A time out in the sun is always needed especially when you need 25 degree weather. It was a quick decision when deciding to visit Algarve as flights were always on the go. I am not a person to chill where all the tourist go especially with the reputation of the Algarve being the British destination. Through a bit of searching I came across Praia De Faro which is Faro’s beach. My mum and I thought what we needed…. Beach, sea water and sun.
I booked my flights with British Airways because I managed to use my points to get cheaper flights at the time I wanted. Its the first time in 5 years I have traveled with the airline. I would have to say their catering service is the slowest on earth. The flight was quick since I was sleeping through most of it. The flight arrived in Faro Airport at 11am which means not far till lunch ( food on my mind all the time). My mum and I decided to rent are car so we can see more of the Algarve. The car was rented through Expedia and we used Goldcar Rental, it was all smooth sailing.
We managed to find a flat for a great price through Airbnb at Praia de Faro, so the beach was just at our door step. We got to the flat and got everything sort to walk out to find some food. There is a few local places in the neighbour hood to choose from but Wax Restaurant had what the belly needed.
The food was Wax Restaurant was fresh, tasty and the staff were pleasant. They restaurant is connected to Wax Hostel which is across the road from the restaurant. Everything is all a walking distance in the area, which means its a good work out in the heat. Where ever I go in Portugal I always order seafood and especially fish.
After a good lunch, we hunted for a little store to buy some food or market ( mercado). As this is a small town the store had their 1pm till 3pm close which was fine as I needed some sunshine. We walked from one end to another of the little town. Around 4pm we headed to the beach from some Vitamin D and relaxation time. Warning the water is cold in Portugal…. but its perfect when its like 25 degrees or more outside.
A good few hours in water is what the doctor order and it felt great. We watched the sunset and then head for dinner at the same location for lunch. I don’t usually order burgers on holiday but I was sooooooooooooooooooo hungry- burgers and beers for dinner it was. By chance of just sitting and chilling my mum and I met a lovely lady called Bianca. The adventures got funnier and even better.
