I guess you can say I have ants in my pants this year, as jumping on a plane or train seems to be a hobby of mine. Honestly, its not be a bad ones as well. This time it was time to go back to a city I haven’t seen for 18 years, Milan, Italy. I was in Milan with my family when I was about 10 years old with only my one intention of having fun, so touring was not on the agenda. This time I wanted to take in the Italian air and taste some good food!!! Yes my life is about food, and I won’t ever say no to that. This trip was an easy and quick booking through Expedia.
The trip was smooth sailing.. well not all of it but it was all good since I tried to sleep through most of it. The Malpensa airport was as expected, manual so long lines and the usual face checks. I needed to pick up my Milan pass, which was not a pleasant experience, as the woman on the counter was not helpful. We finally got our cards and bus passes to get into the city. It takes about 45-50 minutes to reach the Milan central station, which was the main stop.
I checked into Hotel Ambasciatori Mialn, which was the exact same hotel I was in 18 years ago with my family. It was redone to be modern as it was central and inside Galleria Del Corso, which is central as it can ever be. After the check in, well all I had on my mind was FOOOOOOOOOOD. We were lucky enough to find a lovely restaurant called Charleston . I loved the pizza and I did eat a whole pizza !!! <—- This woman was hunnnnnnnnnnnnnnngry…..!
It was time for a wonder through but it was raining ( which should bother me especially living in the UK), so I stayed close to the hotel. I am a pro at getting lost which is why staying was a good option in a city I am not familiar with. I will be honest, as I got back to the hotel I fell asleep by 8pm.
Here is a little video of my day 1 in Milan….
